As we all know that Huawei, Apple and Samsung are making processors for smartphones and some PC devices with their 5nm chipset.
Qualcomm is hoping to join the 5nm chipset manufacturer soon with its Snapdragon 875 processor.
But, in the midst of all this, MediaTek is now working on a new 6nm chipset called the new MT6893, which has leaked once again in Geekbench 5, which giving us an idea of how powerful this Soc is.
Unlike the GeekBench 5, the MT6893 is comparable to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chipset and is more powerful than the company’s latest Dimensity 1000+ processor.
Although the GeekBench 5 results are shown in screenshots uploaded to Weibo, which are not the final results yet, it is a potentially powerful processor.
This chipset has a primary Cortex-A78 core clocked at 3GHz, next three Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.6GHz and four other energy efficient Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2GHz. It also has Mali-G77 MC9 GPU.
Also, there is no other information on this chipset, including DSP or memory controller details.
Some leaks also suggest that it can improve LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.0 storage and will offer LPDDR5 and UFS 3.0 storage support. But nothing can be said with certainty.
According to a recent report, Apple will likely move to a 4nm process-based chipset for iPhones in 2022. According to the naming scheme, it can be called the A16 Bionic.
